Swissnex in Boston

The American Northeast is one of the world’s most innovative, dynamic, and creative regions. Some of the brightest minds on the planet gather here to address the biggest challenges of our time, whether it is pioneering mRNA medicines, tackling climate change, or rethinking our social contract for the digital age. Ever since the pandemic hit and travel all but ceased, Swissnex in Boston and New York has been working hard to maintain the strong link between this exceptional region and Swiss education, research, and innovation.

To name but one example: last fall, we launched a new online learning platform to arm Swiss entrepreneurs with essential knowledge for entering the US market. Today, we are serving more startups than ever before, and interest keeps building up. It did not take me long after arriving in Boston in August – right on time for our 20th anniversary – to get a feel for what a turning point the pandemic may represent in Swissnex’s history. A year into the crisis, we are perhaps only beginning to see the world of change and opportunity that lies ahead for Swissnex and its broader community.
